8th Edition — 2024

The Story

The 8th Edition broke new ground — literally. For the first time, the FFI left the DC–Philly corridor entirely, venturing south to Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, Virginia. The two-day format featured Fourball Closeout matches on both Thursday and Friday, with a 3-Club Challenge Exhibition sandwiched in between on Farmington's East Course. There were no caddies (a first), the 10th hole was closed for renovations (forcing creative routing), and the program included a hole-by-hole course guide that read like a travel magazine. Team Philly flew into Charlottesville Airport on Thursday morning, hit the ground running with breakfast and warm-ups, and were on the first tee by 11:40 AM. The evening featured cocktails on the Blue Ridge Terrace followed by a seated dinner in the Pine Room — a far cry from the bus rides and borrowed couches of earlier editions. Mark Kurd returned to the Team Philly roster, and Ben Quereau arrived with a 0.6 handicap, his lowest in FFI history. Results for this edition are still pending official confirmation.
