9th Edition — 2025

The Story

The 9th Edition returned the FFI to Philadelphia for what promised to be the most ambitious edition yet. For the first time, the tournament featured Foursomes (alternate shot off the tee) — a format that demands partnership, trust, and the obligatory "don't be sorry, I am not playing great either" when your partner dumps one in the bunker. The morning round took place at Gulph Mills Golf Club, a new addition to the course rotation, with the afternoon Fourball match at Aronimink Golf Club. The two-day event kicked off Wednesday with the traditional exhibition at Applebrook, including lunch and the Member-Guest. Wayne Lesage made his FFI debut for Team Philly, while Dan Murray joined Team DC — fresh blood on both sides. The apparel gift this year: Peter Millar vests, because nothing says 'we take this seriously' quite like matching outerwear. Team DC went up big in the morning Foursomes only to hang on to win 15-13 after a furious Team Philly comeback. Vince Burke earned MVP honors. Dinner at Aronimink's Belmont Room on Thursday evening crowned Team DC as the champion of the 9th Edition.
