The Story
Just six months after losing the inaugural edition, Team DC demanded a rematch — and got one. Dubbed the DC Challenge Match, the 2nd Edition brought the fight to Washington for the first time, a two-course affair across Columbia Country Club and Chevy Chase Club. Team Philly loaded onto a bus in Wayne, PA at 3:30 PM sharp — $110 a head, no jeans allowed — and rolled south to Chevy Chase Club, where rooms were waiting and strategy sessions commenced over dinner. Captain Shanahan assigned rooms with military precision: the Shanahan brothers in one double, the Etherington brothers in the other, Mundy in a single, and Grecco and Nathan sharing a room with 'an extra bed provided.' Luke Etherington drew cooler duty. On the course, Roland 'The Silverback' Miller led Team DC to a 15.5–12.5 victory, earning MVP honors. The series was tied at one apiece, and suddenly this thing was real.
